Build Alaska's Future

about Our Map

Our interactive funding map contains announced infrastructure funding for Alaska. The bulk of the data is federal funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA, aka the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), though we also include some State of Alaska funding.

Watch the overview below to explore the functionality of our interactive map of infrastructure funding across Alaska. You can also watch a webinar that outlines the key features and shows you how you can use the map yourself.

Upcoming Features

We continually strive to improve the map, ensuring that it serves a wide range of users, from legislators to community decision-makers to researchers and every Alaskan in between.

Our map is an ongoing effort, updated regularly as new funding opportunities and data become available.

We have a slate of new features on the horizon, including more program-specific map views, such as for broadband. These views will enable users to drill deeper into specific funding categories and provide more context on the contributing programs. Our goal is to create these views for all major funding categories on the map. Please share any feature ideas through our survey!

About Our Data

Some funding items are attributed to specific locations, while others are reported at the community level. For community-level data, we’ve ‘jittered’ the points by adding geographic offsets to make items more visible and discoverable. Consequently, funding totals by House and Senate districts are rough estimates in communities with multiple districts.

Our team is working to generate more precise locations with future funding and is always on the lookout for additional data sources. If you know of any other funding databases that could enhance our map, please let us know via the survey.
