BAF Unveils Next-Generation GIS Map 

Anchorage, Alaska – Build Alaska’s Future Education Fund, a 501(c)3 educational non-profit organization dedicated to advancing good governance, public engagement, and civic participation while remaining non-partisan, is thrilled to announce the forthcoming launch of its one-of-a-kind interactive map, Mapping the Path to a Stronger Alaska.

This initiative aims to engage Alaskans, researchers, policymakers, and the public in a comprehensive exploration of the billions of appropriation dollars in federal infrastructure funds flowing into the state, shedding light on the transformative impact of these investments. 

‘Mapping the Path to a Stronger Alaska’ represents a transformative leap in how Alaskans access and comprehend critical information about federal funding. This dynamic interactive map, constructed using Geographic Information System (GIS) software, will serve as a pivotal resource, empowering data-driven decision-making and fostering collaboration among stakeholders eager to harness these funds to enhance public services, commerce, transportation, and the overall quality of life in Alaska. 

This initiative is deeply aligned with the mission of Build Alaska’s Future Education Fund—to promote good governance, public engagement, and civic participation, all while remaining non-partisan. 

Key Features of ‘Mapping the Path to a Stronger Alaska’ include: 

  • Detailed Project Insights: The map provides an all-encompassing view of funded projects across Alaska, including funding amounts, project specifics, and anticipated completion dates.

  • Integration with State Geoportal: The map integrates seamlessly into the State of Alaska’s Geoportal, facilitating streamlined access to social, environmental, and geographic data, alongside information on funded projects.
